Million Dollar Pound Cake
A rich, buttery Southern classic that truly tastes like a million bucks.
Ingredients
- 1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add flour, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
- Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 15 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.
Tip: This cake tastes even better the next day. Serve with berries, whipped cream, or simply dusted with powdered sugar.
